2022 April Meet and Mingle

The ever-popular Ian Leonard, FOX9 Chief Meteorologist and WPHD and WP HOG Official Meteorologist, was our guest speaker at our April HOG Chapter Gathering. I think he enjoys coming to see us as much as we enjoy seeing him! He is as passionate about weather, Special Olympics, seniors, Samoyed dogs, and bad pants golfing as we are about motorcycling. We even got him on a motorcycle for a photo opportunity this year! We think he should just become one of us.

Ian is so passionate in fact that earlier in the day he co-hosted a mobile Polar Plunge for UnitedHealth Group, UnitedHealth Care, and Optum at their campus in Eden Prairie. Mike Aase, Chapter Secretary, is an employee of Optum and took the plunge with Ian, along with approximately 140 other employees and family.

It was a very interactive and informative meeting, with lots of questions from the members, and a lot of great reminders for us motorcycle riders while we’re out riding the roads of this country to stay weather aware and know what to do in the case of severe weather on the road. Unfortunately, he couldn’t do anything about the state of our weather at present.

Ian featured the Polar Plunge on his 9 pm weather report and featured the HOG Chapter during his 10 pm report. He also reminded us in his closing remarks for us to “Do Something For Someone Everyday”. Thank you all for being a part of this Chapter, and to the officers, volunteers, and staff of Wild Prairie H-D for making this Chapter what it is.
